To make a long story short, I had one week to create my art portfolio for an interview. There were few rules: I had to make it incorporate my program knowledge (Photoshop, Director, Illustrator etc..) and I had to make it different than all the other portfolios I had seen.

I had a strange fascination with this old house in St. Paul, pictured above, so it seemed a logical platform.

I started by doing several sketches of how I wanted it to look, keeping in mind all of the different locations around town that I could get pictures from.

I first thought that it would look good in 3D, showing both my 3D ability and saving time by not having to take pictures around town. 14 hours and lots of coffee later I decided it was not looking "right".

Then, I decided to go with my original idea of using photography. Although I like this piece, it was still not very "interactive".
Above is the final piece that I came up with. When you roll over a door it will open, the torches will light and between the torches it reads the program showcased in that room I.E. Illustrator. The fountain turns on and the plants turn green when clicked. I included a maze and hope to someday make the skyline interactive.
To the left is a shot of one room in the house. This room was made to look like a photo shop, hence when you went into the booth you could flip through my Photoshop designs. I am still adding little things, like the light switch on the wall in this room, when clicked the room will get dark.
